How discoverable is your site to AI?

Enter a URL. We scan the page the way an AI crawler would — robots.txt access, readable text, structured data and AI Graph tags — and score how well it can be read, summarized and cited. Then we show you the cited prompt AskThis would generate.

Rate-limited to 10 scans per minute. We never store the page content.

What the AI Discoverability Score measures

AI assistants read your HTML, not your design. When someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot or Claude a question, these engines fetch the page, pull out what they can read, and decide whether to summarize and cite you — or a competitor. This free tool grades how well any page can be found, read and cited by those engines, exactly the way a crawler sees it: no login, no JavaScript, just your live HTML.

Not scored: the four AskThis AI-Graph tags (ai:type, ai:title, ai:summary, ai:cite_as). These are the machine-readable summary and citation line AI engines read first — we report them separately as a protocol readiness badge on your result, never as a penalty. AskThis adds them for you.

Why it matters

Frequently asked questions

Is the AI Discoverability Score free?

Yes — completely free, no signup and no card. Paste any public URL and scan it. We rate-limit to 10 scans a minute to keep the tool healthy.

Do you store my URL or the page content?

No. We keep only the domain you scanned (e.g. example.com) and the resulting score — never the full URL, the query string, or the page's content. Your IP is stored only as a salted hash, and records auto-expire after 90 days.

How is the score calculated?

We fetch your page the way an AI crawler does — with no JavaScript — and check 36 signals worth 100 points across six categories: crawl & access, structured data (schema), content extractability, entity & metadata, E-E-A-T & credibility, and freshness. It's a neutral AEO/GEO/SEO rubric — the same factors answer engines weigh — so scores genuinely vary from page to page. Every check that passes adds its points.

What counts as a good score?

75 and above (AI-ready) means AI engines can find, read and cite you accurately. 55–74 is good but has gaps that can lead to a wrong summary or a competitor being cited. 35–54 needs work, and below 35 engines struggle to read the page at all. A well-structured article can reach 80+; a thin page with no schema or headings lands much lower.

How do I improve my score?

Work the failed checks by category — many are quick metadata wins (a canonical tag, an Open Graph image, a page language, a published date), while structured data (JSON-LD for your organization, articles and FAQs), a clean H1→H2 outline and an answer-first opening paragraph are the higher-value fixes. The biggest wins are usually E-E-A-T: cite the sources behind your claims, publish under a named author with real credentials, and link your About/Contact/Privacy pages — answer engines lean heavily on those when choosing whom to cite. Separately, AskThis's WordPress and Shopify plugins add the AI-Graph protocol tags and a source-citing prompt so engines cite you by name.

Do you check E-E-A-T?

Yes — 20 of the 100 points are E-E-A-T & credibility: whether the page cites external sources (authoritative ones like .gov, .edu or DOI links count for more), names a real author, evidences that author's credentials, links entity profiles via sameAs, links About/Contact/Privacy pages, and publishes real contact details. Answer engines weigh these heavily when deciding whom to cite, and most pages score poorly here — it is usually the fastest place to gain points.

Which AI engines does this reflect?

The signals that matter to answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews and Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Claude — all of which read your HTML and prefer clearly structured, attributable pages.

Does installing the AskThis widget change my score?

No. The widget adds AI-share buttons; it doesn't change these tags. Your score improves when the underlying tags and content improve — which the AskThis plugins add for you.

How often should I re-scan?

Any time you change a page's content or metadata. We score live on every scan and never cache your result, so a re-scan always reflects the page exactly as it is right now.
